The Gallery - My Weekend

Hello, long neglected blog. Missed yer....

Anyway, whilst all the other lovely Mummy's were at CyberMummy11 (I remain a little bit jealous)

My eldest daughter was having her Holy Communion.

As I am not Catholic it has been a slow and treacherous journey discovering what a MASSIVE deal this is to a young Catholic girl...rites of passage...etc..etc...

I have to admit, to begin with, I thought it was a bit weird dressing an 8 year old as a bride. Then you do it and you see her and I you melt...she looked gorgeous.

So forget all the religious stuff, she loved doing it and she felt great and special for a day. As far as I am concerned that is a win.

Not to mention we had the in-laws over from Ireland (which was lovely) and a BBQ in our back garden for all our friends and family afterwards and cake - Win.

A fab day all round.

Film Review: Transformers 3: Dark Of The Moon

Never thought I'd find myself sticking up for the ungracious Megan Fox who appeared in the first two Transformer pictures, but she's a helluva better actress than the comely Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who comes to this movie direct from a Victoria's Secret runway.

Green Mile star Doug Hutchinson( 51), marries 16-year-old beauty queen

Movie villain Doug Hutchinson has horrified Hollywood by marrying a girl of 16 - even though he's 51.

Doug, who played twisted prison guard Percy Wetmore in The Green Mile, had to get permission for the marriage from bride Courtney Stodden's mum because she is underage. He is four years older than his new father-in-law. But former beauty queen Courtney's mum and dad are delighted with the marriage.

And despite reports that the aspiring singer is signed up to Doug's production company, the happy couple insist their union is no publicity stunt. They said: "We're aware our vast age difference is extremely controversial. "But we're very much in love and want to get the message out that true love can be ageless."

Doug, who also played creepy scientist Horace Goodspeed in Lost, met Courtney when he signed her up as an actress. They got married in Nevada last month and have set up home at his house in the Hollywood Hills. Nevada law says brides have to be at least 18 - or 16 if their parents give permission - and Courtney's mum Krista said she was happy to sign the forms.

"We are so supportive of this," she gushed. "They are very much in love." The teenager's dad Alex, 47, added: "Doug is the nicest man I've ever met in my life. "Every father can only pray to have such a man behind their daughter."

Courtney appears to have had extensive plastic surgery despite her young age, but Krista denies it. She said: "Courtney is a beautiful girl. She has real breasts, real lips. She's not plastic."My daughter is a good Christian girl. She was a virgin when she married Doug."

Wardrobe Remix: Rachel Bilson's Jet by John Eshaya Striped Tank Top

Rachel Bilson, best known for her role in The O.C., who also recently made an appearance in How I Met Your Mother as Cindy, is one of the most stylish celebs in Tinseltown. Favoured by the legendary Karl Lagerfeld, she was starred in the Magnum commercials personally directed by the creative director of Chanel.
Rachel Bilson is always seen with a different bag or her many different pairs of shoes, but she is one petite yet trend-setting star who is great at remixing and transforming her wardrobe pieces into different looks.
Take this black and white cropped tank top from Jet by John Eshaya, which has been seen on Rachel in four different outfits.
Braving the chilly winds with a versatile grey cardigan and edgy boots, matched with her favourite Phillip Lim studded bag
Looking casually cute while grabbing coffee and pastries to-go in boyfriend jeans and ballet flats
Attending a Vanessa Bruno dinner pulling together her striped tank with Vanessa Bruno jacket and skirt
Enjoying the Barbados beach in a pair of mustard denim cut-offs with boyfriend Hayden Christensen
Like Rachel Bilson, you can wear your favourite striped tank top in more ways than one. Take it from casual to formal by trading your denim for a pair of high-waist cuffed trousers or a skirt (depending on the fit and design of your top, choose between a loose, flowy skirt or a pencil skirt). Kick things up a notch by throwing on a structured blazer and some jewellery, not forgetting your best pair of heels. Your hairstyle can make a lot of difference to the tone of an outfit too - pull your locks into an updo (or even a half-up do) for formal events in your tank top; let your hair down if it's a casual affair.
If your tank top is like Rachel's - black and white, feel free to mix in some bright pieces to update your look, be it a bold-coloured separate or colourful stilettos.

Shoe Fetish: Yves Saint Laurent Tribute Platform Sandals

I'm absolutely IN LOVE with YSL's Tribute Platform Sandals that I've seen on so many celebrities. The pair looks pretty, elegant and classic. It's a versatile pair of heels that, with the perfect colour chosen, looks fab with any formal dress - long or short. Take your look from casual to polished by trading your flat sandals or flip-flops with the Tribute Platform Sandals to go with a simple ensemble of a plain tee and a pair of great denim.
The YSL Tribute Platform Sandals come in all sorts of colours, including those with contrasting trimmings (like this pair below). You can also get them in suede, leather, patent leather and even denim (more on this later)!

Most girls would opt for classic black for such an expensive and exclusive pair of heels. Black is a versatile option which works with just about any outfit.
Kendall Jenner
Fashion-forward Olivia Palermo wears her black Tributes in a myriad of ways we can't keep up.
 Love her hair here
The Tribute Sandals are a great staple to any shoe collection. Definitely a go-to pair of footwear for dresses of any colour and style.
Olivia shows she can take these heels to the streets too - with ease.
Other celebrities opted for brown as their versatile choice.
Ashley Olsen looked so boho-chic in a simple grey sweater worn over ruched tights, paired with these YSL beauties
Eva Longoria at an event wearing a yellow shirt dress, forming a great contrast with her heels
Kourtney Kardashian kept her look polished as she topped her casual romper with a white blazer, chain bag and YSL Tribute heels
Vanessa Minnillo pairs her classic footwear with two very different outfits, channeling diverse styles.
Nude is the new black. Now nude heels are a pair of must-haves in any girl's closet.
Before the trend of contrasting bold colours hit the runway, Hayden Panetierre kept her outfit simple to draw attention to her bright frock. That includes wearing a pair of nude YSLs
Singer LeAnn Rimes looking stylish in earth-tone colours with a pair of white capri pants
Shania Twain recently received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame wearing this pair of fabulous heels (one of my favourite colours!)
Pale gold appears to be a great choice for Kate Moss' formal and Kourtney Kardashian's semi-formal looks.
Footwear is a great way to add a splash of colour to an outfit.
Lauren Conrad wears her blue patent YSLs in two different casual outfits
Ex-American Idol judge Paula Abdul wore her heels in a matching colour to her dress
Yellow not only adds colour, but is also complimentary to many other colours that you can put in an outfit. The mood can be set through the shade of yellow chosen.
Beyonce chooses a pair in bright, neon yellow
Catherine Zeta Jones contrasted her dark yellow YSLs with a cowl neck blue frock
Lauren Conrad and Victoria Secrets' angel Adriana Lima rocked their black pair with gold trims....
while I Love You, Beth Cooper actress Hayden Panetierre wears her nude dress with a pair of purple-gold Tribute sandals.
And finally, saving the best for last, I couldn't NOT feature this gorgeous pair, that has been seen on Alyssa Milano:

ISN'T IT BEAUTIFUL?!
I'm super into denim and brown 'cause the match just sends very good ol' western vibes (that also means I'm in love with fringe, btw). I just got this pair of wedges that's exactly in these two colours and I'm loving them to bits.
So that pretty much sums up my obsession over YSL's signature Tribute heels. YSL is definitely on the rise in the shoe department, as many celebrities are looking to the label for their comfy selection of good-looking, classic heels. I hope to be one of its customers someday.
