Kids' Choice Awards 2011.

The annual Kids' Choice Awards by Nickelodeon was held at the Galen Center in LA over the weekend. The number of celebrities who showed up were lesser than I had expected, probably because the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards which was also held on the same weekend in Sin City.

The orange carpet favourites were probably Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus, and definitely the Kardashian/Jenner sisters.

Selena Gomez was cute in a Christian Cota get-up complete with a water-colour cropped top and a pair of mid-waist shorts. I wasn't liking the shorts but I love seeing Selena in fun outfits and this was it. Her azure heels by Camilla Skovgaard looked so good! Love the pop of colour! Selena's chopped locks also make her look more vibrant. Selena took home the blimp for Favourite TV Actress, while her beau Justin Bieber who is currently in Europe, swept home the awards for Favourite Male Singer and Favourite Song for on his work "Baby".
Miley Cyrus blended in with the orange carpet in her flowy summer frock from Dolce & Gabbana. It's nice to see her covering up. Oh, if you haven't heard, her parents have decided to make their marriage work again so they're no longer getting a divorce. Ever since, I see Miley dressed more appropriately again, not to mention hanging out with her family, just like the way I had preferred. The dress really worked with her tan and height. Great winning look, as Miley won the Favourite Movie Actress award.
Victoria Justice turned up in a sequinned number by Theia, with which she completed her outfit with matching clutch and heels in light gold. A fan of these gold items I was not, but I was pretty wild about the dress and its cutesy, bright yellow dots standing out in a sea of blue. It was a great dress, but I wish she had worn it with more edgy footwear. Yellow heels would have been kick-ass.
iCarly's Miranda Cosgrove doesn't seem to match up with her competition on the carpet. Once again, she should put in more effort even though it's nice to know that she's such a down-to-earth girl. BTW, her latest hit on the radio "Dancin' Crazy" is really groovy. Here, Miranda wore a Miu Miu fuchsia strapless dress that features a unique bustline, with which she wore a pair of black strappy patent heels. I've seen her in those heels before and they really don't flatter her. The straps are cutting her off. On top of that, her red lips are screaming for attention along with her hot pink dress. Not ideal. Nonetheless, Miranda was a winner that night as iCarly was picked Favourite TV Show while Despicable Me (Miranda did voiced over for Margo) took home the blimp for Favourite Animated Movie. YAY!
Debby Ryan of The Suite Life on Deck was decked in a gold frock and strappy heels, both from BCBG Generation. It's a very safe and youthful look. Definitely loving her curls and statement necklace, which is perfect with the strapless dress.

Ashley Argota of True Jackson, VP looked sweet in a multi-colour Jovani Couture single-shoulder dress. It's one of my favourite looks for the award ceremony, simple but very age- and event-appropriate. I'm a sucker for nude heels and this dress is way too cute!
Ashley's True Jackson, VP co-star Keke Palmer was also in a single-shoulder dress, but looked classy in a black Ina Soltani. Her sequinned dress sparkled before the shutterbugs and I love the dash of colour she added with her bright yellow Jimmy Choo clutch. The look is mature without looking over-the-top and her blow-out is gorgeous.
Aimee Teegarden graced the KCAs in my favourite look for the evening. I love her choice of The Heller's romper in the season's latest colour - rose blush, and the brunette topped off her look with a breastplate necklace lined with turquoise beads. LOVE IT. Her metallic gold pumps completed the polished ensemble, making it a look I'd gladly wear myself.
Wizards of Waverly Place's Jennifer Stone was bright and bold in a BCBG Max Azria dress which was beautifully contrasted with her hot pink lips. Jennifer also cleverly muted the rest of her look with a nude clutch and a pair of nude gladiator heels by Rene Caovilla. On the whole, a very summer-friendly look.
British singer Pixie Lott displayed her playful side as she trotted on the orange carpet in a whimsical Miu Miu short dress. I'm not a fan of such crazy designs, but I'll say some people can bring out the best in these unique pieces and Pixie managed to work it. Keeping the attention drawn to her cute frock, the "Boys and Girls" singer completed her ensemble with a simple bag and a pair of black heels. Her apple earrings make for some great accessories, amping up the fun look.
Nathalia Ramos was Legally Blonde-inspired as shades of pink invaded her look at the Kids' Choice Awards. I absolutely adore her Grey Mer pink heels, matched with her pink lips and lilac nails. I thought her Ani Li dress was a little too revealing at the bust and also in length for a kids' show. Interesting look overall, but not so appropriate.
Rock chick Taylor Momsen continues her wild streak as she arrived at the award show in a cropped leather jacket and crazy platforms. At least she knew to cover up and not show up in fish-net stockings.
Presenter for Favourite Movie was Modern Family's Sofia Vergara, who looked casual chic in an embellished navy tank and YSL platform pumps. It's strange but I prefer seeing Sofia in something casual, it's probably fresher to see her like this than her predictable glammed up looks on the red carpet.
Heidi Klum, also a presenter at the KCAs this year, wore Gucci to the show and got slimed! The supermodel was such a good sport! The dress didn't seem to flatter Heidi and this look seems way too familiar and for too many times. Black was always Heidi's safe colour, but I wished she had gone with something fun at the show instead.
Finally, the Kardashian sisters. Khloe was missing among the girls but the sisters looked like they went with some sort of theme or dress code for the 24th Kids' Choice Awards this year. Not too sure what they're wearing, but they all look gorgeous.
I'd like to end off with a picture of Josh Duhamel dressed intentionally like teen sensation Justin Bieber. Would have been hilarious if Justin attended too! The resemblance is uncanny!
