Style Icon: Kate Bosworth

Kate Bosworth has always been known for her slightly-bohemian casual yet chic style, with outfits that many of us can easily replicate but not many can carry off the looks as effortlessly as Kate does. The Blue Crush actress goes for simplicity as she practically lives in her tank tops and sweaters, but loves finishing off her looks with a dash of print or colour from her variety of interesting skirts or shoes. Adding an edge to her look, she sometimes opt for studded footwear or bags. Denim has also been part of her staples, ranging from outerwear to shorts to boyfriend jeans.
I've never quite seen another celebrity live and look so good in knit wear.
Earlier in the year, Kate Bosworth wore her knitted sweater in 3 different outfits. Which look was your favourite?
Looking comfy in the Californian sun in an all-black ensemble, adding a touch of rugged-ness with her studded Chloe booties
Rocking classic loafers, Kate layers her sweater with a neck-tie blouse for a twist
A simple bright sweater over cuffed jeans and sandals make for a chic and comfortable outfit to travel in
One of my favourite looks - a loose knit sweater worn over a knee-length skirt spells vintage
Sweaters and mini-skirts: Classic Kate Bosworth look. With her favourite Isabel Marant suede ankle boots, of course.
A great lesson on how to remix your wardrobe pieces in two very different but great looks
A good over-sized knit sweater to keep warm on chilly days, and Kate chooses timeless, classic pieces that goes well with all outfits.
Kate Bosworth works her classic tank tops with her multiple printed skirts.
Throwing on her Chloe studded boots for a dash of bold colour
Cleverly belting up her outfits to give her looks a defined waistline
A pretty printed or floral dress (rompers are great alternatives too) can ease your troubles of pairing up separates. Choose easy to wear prints (e.g. small florals, light colours) for higher re-wearability and avoid looking dated.
An interesting combo of a cute floral romper, fedora and classic oxfords
Kate likes them bohemian prints
Simple frocks allows you to dress them differently each time with a change of bags, footwear or accessories.

Denim makes for a vital part of Kate's wardrobe - whether it's jeans, jackets, shirts or vests.
A denim shirt can double up as a top and as an outerwear
A denim vest can add an interesting element to your simple dress
Key to wearing a denim jumpsuit or dress: Keep the rest of your outfit simple
Doing double denim can be tricky. Also, the vital point is to keep the rest of the look down
A light-washed shirt can be easier to wear and match than one in a brighter and darker shade
Who knew sneakers could look so good?

Matching her grey tee with an Alexander Wang Coco studded bag
Kate does her thing with brightly coloured pieces to brighten up her outfits:
Never underestimate what a good piece of jacket can do for your outfit:
A classic grey blazer smartens up her simple ensemble
Channeling some cool vibes with a cargo jacket
And on the red carpet and at formal events, Kate Bosworth brings on her vintage beauty side in her choice of floral and lace dresses.

Attending The Warrior's Way screening in a Spring 2011 Erdem piece
Wearing bright red lips and a trendy midi skirt by Derek Lam at the opening of Esquire House LA
Channeling the old Hollywood look in a back-less Valentino dress at the 2010 MET Ball. Love it.

When she's not in her vintage gear, Kate loves bright and bold colours. Looks like she got the memo first on Spring's latest trend.

Minimalistic but bright pink lips and her Jil Sander colour-block dress updates the look

At Valentino's Cocktail Party in bright leather pants, with which she dresses down in nude items. All by Valentino
Even when Kate chooses the safe black dresses for her red carpet walk, she doesn't settle for simple designs.

Sometimes, Kate walks on the wild side on the red carpet with her studded outfits and animal print.
