Trend Alert: Clash of the Brights

The runway for this year's spring collections has literally been overwhelming with bright hues and colour-blocking.

I'm actually loving all the happy colours I see on the runway! That's what spring is all about - colours! The unexpected clash of them also brings surprises each time I set my eyes on a new outfit. I can't wait to try this trend myself, but to be honest, the availability of affordable clothing that comes in such loud hues are almost close to none. I've seen a couple of brightly-coloured tops down at Zara, so if you're interested do head down to your nearest Zara outlet. If you're an online-shopper and budget isn't much of an issue for you, feel free to pop by ASOS for their wide selection of gorgeous clothing:

Take baby-steps into this spring trend by matching your brightly-coloured top/dress/bottoms with accessories of a clashing colour. It can be shoes, bags, belt, hat, necklace - anything!

Some tips on how to work this trend:
1. For starters, try colour-block pieces. The combining of colours has already been done for you!
2. If you're unfamiliar with colour clashing, mixing and matching colours of the same tone and colour family is almost foolproof. Think coral, red, orange and even pink. On the other end of the spectrum, try coral, teal, cobalt and turquoise.
3. Contrasting cool hues i.e. purple and green or blue and purple, can work too. Just always remember to keep the tone of the colours at the same level.
